VINCI’s 2025 acquisition of FM Conway has led to several multi-year infrastructure projects in England, helping it strengthen its presence in England

VINCI has doubled down on expanding its presence in the UK, particularly in the South East of England, with contracts for infrastructure projects in Bromley, south London, and nearby Westminster.

FM Conway, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction in the UK, has won the contracts totalling almost ÂŁ60m (US$81m) a year.

Andrew Hansen, FM Conway’s CEO, says: “We are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with the City of Westminster through this significant contract award.

“I look forward to building on the success of our shared past achievements in innovation and sustainability, while supporting the local communities across Westminster.

Multi-year contracts for road infrastructure

The £51m (US$69m) a year Westminster contract runs for eight and a half years and includes a clause to extend by an extra four years.

It includes the design, construction and maintenance of Westminster’s public road infrastructure.

FM Conway will work on road surfaces, pedestrian crossings, drainage, bridges, public lighting and structures. It will also inspect the infrastructure.

The firm also won two contracts with Bromley Council, for road maintenance in addition to planned and emergency road works in the area.

The projects are expected to total £7m (US$9m) each year for an initial period of six years. Similarly, the contracts could be extended for an additional four years.

Based in Nanterre, France, strengthening its presence across the channel in the UK is a goal for VINCI and FM Conway has provided the vehicle to do this.

Vinci Construction acquired FM Conway in early 2025, helping it to anchor itself particularly in the buoyant market in south-east England.

The move has also enabled it to boost business synergies and expertise in road works in the UK.

Based in the region, FM Conway has a strong presence with recent projects including working with National Highways to resurface the M4 and another road resurfacing project in Westminster.

For VINCI Construction, the latest contract wins build on other projects it has secured in the UK this year, including one for the significant railway infrastructure programme, HS2.

The project is helping to drive urban regeneration in the city of Birmingham, central England.
