Beyond the Name: Mace Construct’s Brand Evolution

For 35 years, Mace has delivered projects around the world, with safety, sustainability, efficiency and quality at the forefront of its operations.
Operating as a consultancy firm and also a construction business, Mace Group has worked to innovate and deliver its clients' visions.
After a majority investment by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, it has announced its decision to rebrand its construction division.
Company rebrand
Mace Group is working towards becoming the leading project delivery consultancy and construction partner. Through its two engines – Consult and Construct – it has become the name behind the creation and updating of many community-supporting life centre facilities, data centres and social infrastructure, including The Shard and Battersea Power Station.
Following a six-month deal, its Consult business will be absorbed by US bank Goldman Sachs. Once the deal has been finalises, Mace Consult will operate under the Mace brand, but it will become an independent business. Until this point, the engines will operate as two different businesses; Mace Construct and Mace Consult.
However, once the sale has reached completion, Mace Construct will operate under a new name, which will be revealed later this year. A branding expert will consult on the matters, but staff and clients will also be able to have their say. Consult's name currently has the biggest reach, but the rebranding for Construct will be a part of its UK-wide growth plans across the construction industry.
“Since we were founded in 1990, Mace has continued to evolve as we’ve grown; from a boutique consultancy to the leading London contractor, and now to one of the globe’s foremost programme and project managers," explains Jason Millett, Mace Group CEO.
“We are pleased today to be announcing the next chapter in that story. Mace Consult will become an independent organisation in January, led by Davendra Dabasia as CEO. We have worked hard over the past decade to establish ‘Mace’ as a global benchmark for exceptional programme delivery, and we think it is right that Davendra and his team are able to continue to build on the strength of that brand in Consult’s growth markets across the world.
“Here in the UK, we believe there is an opportunity for Mace Construct to evolve once again, adopting a new name and identity that leverages our established relationships and reputation for construction delivery, setting a bold path forward with a new vision and a renewed focus on what our people stand for and what our teams are here to deliver.”

Establishing global reach
The investment partnership with Goldman Sachs has already ensured business growth for Mace Consult, with its acquisition of Turton Bond in late 2025.
On the acquisition, Davendra stated: "It’s a partnership that will help us increase our growth trajectory in the United States, seeing us join forces with a talented team of consultants who are working with some of the most prestigious clients in the tech space.
"From delivering service excellence, to looking after our people and finding new ways to innovate, the foundations for shared success are already well established.
"This news is a signal of our intent to continue exploring M&A opportunities to accelerate our growth in North America – supported by our new partnership with Goldman Sachs Alternatives."
The company reorganisation and shift represents the differing goals of the two Mace engines. Where Consult aims to grow a more global reach and create a presence elsewhere, Construct wants to maintain and pay homage to its London roots.
