Siemens has entered a long-term agreement with Samsung C&T Corporation, Engineering & Construction Group (Samsung C&T) to deliver complex infrastructure through a combined approach that uses each company’s strengths.

Samsung C&T brings global expertise in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), while Siemens offers advanced capabilities in digitalisation, electrification and automation.

The collaboration is set to kick off with six projects across Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Canada, including major infrastructure in key sectors such as airports, hospitals, buildings and data centres.

By joining forces, both companies aim to create infrastructure solutions that address specific project needs and market conditions.

Global collaboration launched

Siemens and Samsung C&T's first phase of projects will give both companies the chance to apply their technology and engineering expertise to a range of environments and technical requirements.

The approach is designed to produce tailored solutions for each project, based on the location’s infrastructure goals and user demands.

Through the initial roll-out, the two firms will set the stage for larger collaboration efforts. Early-stage involvement allows both partners to identify challenges, propose custom solutions and manage the design and delivery in a coordinated way.

According to Siemens, this method improves cost-efficiency, integration and project performance over the long term. The projects form part of a shared strategy to meet changing infrastructure needs across international markets.

The 'ONE Tech Company' model

Siemens and Samsung are structuring their collaboration around a unified model referred to as 'ONE Tech Company', merging the former's Smart Infrastructure and Digital Industries portfolio with the latter's EPC capabilities into a single, coordinated delivery method.

Siemens provides a complete set of technologies across its portfolio, including Building X, Electrification X and Gridscale X. These platforms are designed to manage building operations, optimise power systems and scale grid-related solutions respectively.

Other components include prefabricated e-houses, which are modular electrical substations, as well as blue GIS, which is gas-insulated switchgear without sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), a greenhouse gas commonly used in electrical insulation.

Siemens also contributes industrial metaverse applications, which use digital twins and 3D visualisation to simulate the construction and performance of infrastructure assets before they are built. These technologies help reduce error, improve design and shorten delivery timelines.

Stephan May, CEO of Electrification & Automation at Siemens, explains: "This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to redefine how next-generation infrastructure is designed and delivered. By combining Siemens’ integrated technology portfolio with Samsung C&T’s proven EPC expertise, we are shaping the future of sustainable and digital infrastructure that truly meets the evolving needs of our global customers.”

The ONE Tech Company model brings all these elements together under a single delivery plan, ensuring coordination across technical and construction teams from the start of a project to completion.

Customer-focused solutions

Both companies position the agreement as a response to increasing demand for infrastructure that can adapt to changing user needs, integrate advanced technologies and meet sustainability targets.

Hojin Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate New Business at Samsung C&T, states: “This collaboration with Siemens reflects our shared commitment to innovation and excellence. Together, we will deliver smarter, safer and more sustainable infrastructure solutions – bringing tangible value to our customers and communities around the world.”

Customer-centred value creation remains the focus throughout the collaboration. By working together early in the project lifecycle, Siemens and Samsung C&T intend to offer bespoke solutions that go beyond traditional delivery models.

The strategy includes tailoring the design and operation of infrastructure systems to each project's context. Whether for hospitals requiring advanced energy and digital systems, or data centres demanding secure and resilient operations, both firms aim to combine technology with EPC execution to meet performance goals and lifecycle requirements.

The agreement strengthens Siemens’ and Samsung C&T’s global reach and offers clients integrated services across digital design, electrical systems and physical construction. Through joint bidding, design and execution, both companies look to become preferred partners in a growing international infrastructure market.

As demand increases for data-heavy buildings, resilient energy networks and connected systems, Siemens and Samsung C&T position their partnership as a ready-made solution for governments, developers and private clients pursuing future-ready infrastructure.
