Creating the tools that will shape the future of sustainable, efficient and safe construction industry. SAALG Geomechanics provide the construction industry with digital solutions that empower data-driven decisions by analysing large volumes of monitoring data in real-time.

The flagship product is Daarwin.

Daarwin is a cloud-based platform to manage all geotechnical monitoring data and to optimise construction projects by reducing geotechnical uncertainties. Daarwin allows the user to visualise and correlate all their data sets to the different stages of construction.

The machine learning algorithm makes predictive models more accurate to diagnose over-dimension and unforeseen events. This technology minimises risk and maximises sustainability and the profit of construction projects.

Geotechnical Uncertainties

In every construction project, ground behaviour has a major impact on the final structural design. For this reason, soil characterisation is crucial. Traditionally, soil parameters are characterised by laboratory and in-situ testing. However, a high degree of uncertainty is associated with those tests.

Currently, the industry tackles the problem by applying safety factors in structural engineering design. This procedure minimises risk but the geotechnical uncertainties (that can cause delays, malfunction and failure) remain unchanged and the overall cost of the project increases due to over-dimension.

Observational Method Made Easy

Daarwin overcomes the limitations of laboratory and in-situ testing by using real-time back analysis, a methodology that compares monitoring data (such as topography, inclinometers, sliding micrometres, piezometers etc.) to a digital twin (numerical models) to provide a more accurate representation of the real soil behaviour, which helps in:

  • Minimising risk

  • Saving time

  • Diagnosing over-dimension

and therefore you can MAXIMISE PROFIT

With Daarwin you can save up to 30% of your project cost, reducing costs from unforeseen events and over-dimension.
